Stop smoking

If you have decided to make this the year you stop smoking, then the help you need is right here on your doorstep. In 2008/09 we helped 3,228 patients stub out their last cigarette – and smokers are four times more likely to quit successfully if they get support from the NHS rather than going it alone.

What we do
Advisors are available across central Lancashire, offering free one-to-one and group support or telephone consultations to help people who want to stop smoking. Call free on 0800 328 6297 to find out more.

We can also help you cope with cravings using a number of stop smoking medications available.

Services are provided during the daytime and the evening from a range of venues including:

  • Health centres
  • Community centres
  • Children’s centres
  • Leisure centres
  • GP practices
  • Youth settings
  • Hospitals

Stop smoking support groups are also held in workplaces to support organisations when they are bringing in smoke-free policies.
