There are some illnesses and injuries we will always need to visit our GP for.  Your local GP surgery provides a range of services including:

  • Medical advice and treatment
  • Prescriptions
  • Hospital / specialist referrals
  • Immunisations / tests

Many nurses are now trained to give advice, take tests and diagnose and treat illnesses that used to only be dealt with by doctors.

If you are not registered with a GP but would like to be telephone 01772 221 341.

GP Out-of-Hours

All GPs have an emergency service when their surgery is closed (including bank holidays and royal weddings).  This service is only for urgent medical problems that cannot wait until the surgery is next open.

To access the out-of-hours service simply telephone your normal GP surgery number or call direct on one of the numbers below.

  • Chorley: 01257 418 010
  • Preston: 01772 788 058
  • West Lancashire: 01695 588 741

Please remember that this service is not a drop-in service and so you will need to call to make an appointment.
